Recent Articles of Wildlife Interest

There were 3 articles of interest in the News and Observer and Baltimore Sun. The first article was written by Grant Sizemore entitled “We need laws to control the feral cat crisis“. This article cites the threat to wildlife communities and especially birds.

The second article is by D. Ryan Schurtz entitled “A Walk in the woods does a body (and soul) good“. City environments are unnaturally stimulating. Walking in the woods may allow our minds the chance to relax and recover. Interesting point of view. I know it works for me.
The third article is by Norman Winter. His article is about the Chinese pistache tree. It is not a native, I know, but its fall color was beautiful along Heritage Lakes Road. It seems to be a tough, drought tolerant tree. I did notice that several of them still didn’t make it through our drought this year.
